Tumosan a Turkish Tractor manufacturer is responsible for designing an indigenous engine for the Altay. The first 250 Altay tanks are expected to use german MTU motors, there are some rumors that motors may be acquired from Ukraine to allow for easier export of the system. When Turkey attempted to export the T-155 (155mm SPH) to Azerbaijan the deal was blocked by Germany who was supplying the engine, eventually a Ukrainian motor was used and the deal went through.

Sorry it is AKKOR not Korkut. Korkut is an SPAAG.

A $54 million deal was signed between Aselsan and Turkey's Undersecretariat for Defence Industry for the AKKOR Active Protection System. The System will be delivered to Turkey's Undersecretariat for Defence Industry in 2020. It will be mounted on Turkey's main battle tank the Altay as well as other vehicles.

    New video of the Altay

@Falcon @Admin Please post on your social media, this is a big one.

The Altay will also be able to fire an 8km range Anti Tank Missile from its gun according to reliable sources.

The Altay looks like a very solid tank, with that being said given the recent economic and diplomatic deals between Iran and The West™ and news of Europeans shying away from selling arms to Saudi Arabia the Altay looks to have a very good chance in getting a big contract from the Saudis.

Only problem that arises is the engine but they are working with the Austrians not the Germans (country).
I don't think the Pakistanis will go for the Altay, they already build their own tanks with China.

I think with Saudis we have a good chance because we already sell them a lot. I think they were our number one customer from memory. I fear that maybe they don't want us to get big in region so they will buy Leclerc from France.

Otokar Submits Bid for Turkey’s Indigenous Tank

Armored vehicles maker Otokar said it submitted its serial production proposal to Turkey’s procurement agency, the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM), in January.

Otokar’s bid involves the production of an initial batch of 250 tanks and integrated logistical support for the program.

The company said it completed the production of Altay prototypes, which are now going through system qualification and acceptance tests.
