China Outlines Plan for Military Buildup on Disputed Island
Website reveals future warship deployment to Philippines’ Scarborough Shoal

China’s plan for a new military buildup on a disputed island near the Philippines shows the future deployment of Chinese warships close to where U.S. naval forces will be stationed in the future.

Details of the militarization plan for Scarborough Shoal in the Spratly Islands were obtained by U.S. intelligence agencies over the last several months, according to defense officials.

The plans were confirmed last month when a website for Chinese military enthusiasts posted a detailed dredging plan for Scarborough Shoal, including a runway, power systems, residences, and harbor capable of supporting Chinese navy warships.

The shoal is located about 150 miles from the Philippines’ coast. It is claimed by Manila but has been under Beijing’s control since 2012.

Disclosure of the buildup plan for the shoal is the latest element of a dispute that has pitted the United States and regional states against China.

A Chinese runway in Scarborough Shoal will aggravate already high tensions – Hawaii rep
    April 19, 2016
    Ruben Santos

Hawaii First District Representative Mark Takai is well aware of China’s provocative actions in West Philippine Sea. Takai said this actions should exclude China in Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise 2016. The said exercise aims to help participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.

Takai noted in a newsletter that since September 2013, China has been building islands by undertaking extensive reclamation and construction on several reefs in the Spratly Island chain in West Philippine Sea. This, according to him, created more than 3,000 acres of artificial landmasses.

“China has reclaimed 17 times more land in 20 months than the other claimants combined over the past 40 years,” he noted.

Chinese Scarborough Shoal Base Would Threaten Manila
    By Sydney J. Freedberg Jr.
    April 28, 2016 at 4:43 PM

WASHINGTON: If China builds an artificial island on the disputed Scarborough Shoal, Sen. Dan Sullivan warned today, it will complete a “strategic triangle” of bases that can dominate the South China Sea. At this morning’s Senate Armed Services Committee hearing, Sullivan displayed a map (above) of the region overlaid with the ranges of Chinese fighters striking from a triangle of bases on (1) the Chinese island of Hainan, (2) the disputed Spratly Islands, and (3) Scarborough Shoal (as yet unbuilt). The overlapping rings would cover not only almost all the South China Sea, but much of the Philippines and Vietnam.

Its basically over, its too late for any action to prevent the island expansion. All we can do know is come up with ways to quickly neutralize any military systems they base their incase of war.

Now that China is near to completing its strategic triangle do you think that they have their eyes on Philippine territories.

Not exactly, but this island reclamation would threaten us as they can now aim their DF-15s towards Manila.

But a reporter in China did said that the Philippines is supposedly a "Chinese territory" this they may likely do what the Nazis had done to Poland andbthe Polish people in the early years of WW2.

Other than that, they are preparing for their "Second Island Chain".

The US Army either needs to sell or deploy HIMARS armed with ATACMS ballistic missiles to the Philippines.

The Philippines repeatedly attempts to encroach on Huangyan Island
    Source: Xinhua 2016-04-28 18:43:57

BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Philippine fishing boats have constantly engaged in illegal fishing activities in the sea surrounding China's Huangyan Island.

When Chinese patrol vessels demanded the Philippine fishing boats leave Chinese territory, the Philippine fishermen waved chopping knives and threw burning items at the Chinese vessels and the staff on board.

The dangerous provocations have been getting increasingly rampant over recent years, seriously jeopardizing security as well as the law and order on Huangyan Island and the nearby waters and aggravating the tension between the two countries.

These actions by the Philippines have violated China's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

TENSIONS RISING IN WEST PHILIPPINE SEA AHEAD OF ARBITRATION RULING
    Posted on May 4, 2016

PHILIPPINES awaits an international arbitration ruling against China’s marital claims to nearly all of the South China Sea, the dispute is likely to intensify regardless of which way the decision goes.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said, “I want to reiterate that the Scarborough Shoal is an inherent part of the Chinese territory. No matter what kind of action that China may take or not, it is something within the scope of China’s sovereignty.”
