So I am currently deployed under orders that say "not to exceed 180 days". The original deployment date was mid Sep but upon arriving at CRC I had to do additional training and wasn't able to leave until 1 month after I was originally supposed to. About receiving my amended orders, the only thing that changed was the day I was to leave CRC to deploy and the date to arrive at CRC stayed the same. Does my time at CRC count toward my deployment?

From my understanding, the 180 days meant the time I was to be away from my unit or that my unit agree to lose me for. It seems as though everyone down range thinks it only counts as boots on ground, but everyone back home says it starts from the day I arrived at CRC?

Any help in clarifying this would be greatly appreciated!
