Yet another big breech, this time likely for financial purposes, against a children's toy maker:

A cyber attack on digital toymaker VTech Holdings Ltd (0303.HK) exposed the data of 6.4 million children, the company said on Tuesday, in what experts called the largest known hack targeting youngsters.

The Hong Kong-based firm said the attack on databases for its Learning Lodge app store and Kid Connect messaging system affected even more kids than the 4.9 million adults that the company disclosed on Friday.

Security experts said they expected the size of the breach would prompt governments to scrutinize VTech and other toymakers to review their security.

The FBI has the tools and the patience to target high-profile interests, like fraud rings or hacking collectives, but it doesn't have the man-power it needs to effect the most probable concerns like state-sponsored hackers or single entities. One person with the right skills can cause a lot of problems.

That's the big problem, man-power, especially when you're competing with Silicon Valley for the industries best.

Defiantly. Actually it would be interesting to have a program run by the FBI that offered temporary employment working on a certain case or job. Almost like hiring a handy man for fixing one thing in your house, instead they pay a hacker to work on one case for them. Im sure though this would have major security issues however it is an idea to make up for the lack of man power.
