The French Air Force has taken delivery of its final Eurosam SAMP/T (Sol-Air Moyenne Portée/Terrestre) long-range air defence system, the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) has announced.

According to OCCAR the final system was delivered at the end of February to the Escadron de Défense Sol-Air (EDSA) 02/950 'Sancerre' at Avord Air Base, in central France. Delivery and acceptance works on the system were undertaken by the French defence procurement agency (the DGA), OCCAR noted.

A single SAMP/T battery typically includes four transport erector launchers armed with up to eight Aster 30 missiles, a Thales Arabel 360° multifunction X-band radar, a command and control vehicle, as well as power, maintenance, and reload vehicles.
