The Triomphant (SSBN) has successfully this July 1st at 9:18,launched a M51 ballistic missile from the Bay of Audierne (Finistère).

The missile, which had obviously no nuclear charge, was then followed by the means of the General Directorate of Armament (DGA) and the tracking ship (BEM) Monge.

It fell in a desolate area located in the North Atlantic.

In its statement, the Ministry of Defence insists that this trial was conducted "in strict compliance with international commitments of France."
