Buenos Aires (CNN)Argentina's coast guard says it sank a Chinese fishing vessel that was fishing in a restricted area off the South American country's coast.

The Argentine Naval Prefecture chased and eventually sank the Lu Yan Yuan Yu 010 vessel after detecting it illegally fishing within the country's exclusive economic zone, officials said Tuesday.

They are not content with Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean.

They do these all over the world especially in Africa where they take advantage of poor countries like Somalia and Senegal. The Chinese aren't the only ones that do it, messed up fishermen from around the world do this. Now if they are sponsored and supported by their government then that is a whole new story. That would be really bad.

China has expressed serious concern after an Argentinean coastguard vessel fired on and sank a Chinese fishing boat in waters near the southern Argentine port city of Puerto Madryn.

The Global Times newspaper quoted a Chinese foreign ministry official as saying that the Chinese embassy had lodged urgent representations with the Argentine side, demanding a thorough investigation into the incident.

The Chinese side is also urging Argentina to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Chinese crew, protect their legitimate rights and prevent similar incidents happening in the future.

Good for Argentina! And what are Chinese fishing boats doing inside of restricted Argentine waters anyway? Does Argentina have a fishing agreement with China, or do Argentine companies?

That's awfully far from Chinese waters:confused:.

When I picture a fishing boat, this comes to mind:

    But these are huge vessels!!!
