Good for protecting airfields from Cruise Missiles. Not entirely sure if Russia had a similar system deployed at the airfield struck by our tomahawks.

our counterpart for the MANTIS system of the Germans, is we use the Pantsir-S1s. we deployed 4 Pantsir-S1s to Syria to protect our S-400 sight.

Do you have any information indicating that Russia will be sending more Pantsir to Russia to protect Syrian air fields? Without the Pantsir those bases are all vulnerable to attack.

not that I know of. the Pantsir-S1 systems are used to protect the S-400 Systems at our airbase, while at our naval base we have S-300V4s. though I would not be shocked if later it is revealed a couple Pantsir-S1s been sent to the naval base to protect the S-300V4s.

If you ask me the Russia equivalent, the Pantsir is probably a better system to have overall. It is more mobile and also features missiles that have a range 20 kilometers.

The Mantis gets the job done though:

I like the Russian air defense systems better than our Western air defense systems, it seems that the Russian's cover all layers more effectively.
