There many words about refugees, may be, they are a kind of problem (may be not), but I was interested with her words about Russia - that finally, there are somebody, who can counter USA, and it is very good.

New promo of candidate in President of France. It is interesting what worlds were choosen, to be liked by electorate. "Independence", "civilisation", "islamists" etc...

She said nothing about "Mordor", "Russian orcs, trolls and goblins", "Dark Lord of evil Empire", etc...

As for all, French have MANY different point of views about everything... like our ancestors, the Gaulois, we use to disagree on almost every things. But put a foreigner in the talk, and all different French (Arvernes, Lemovices, Bretonniques, Basque, Parisiens, Nordiques, Normands etc... I used all old french names for regionals) become French with a single idea and unity...
Actually, in western Europe, France is the true unique independent country (or "non alignée")... due to its own modern military industry, a totally independent deterrent force (unique in western Europe as UK nukes have a double system of authorisation command both UK and US), French have always reflected on the problem "If USA weren't doing the "job" ... ", that a scenario we are truly thinking about ...
During USSR era, Red army were knowing what political and military decision UK-USA-Germany and other NATO's country will take EXCEPTED France. Not that it was a great proble either, but French which had left the integrated NATO command, were considered as "unpredictable"... since the 50's, British and other NATO's were considered as "second to leader (USA) " but French has often and surprisingly taken strange decisions (showing unexpected independance to the americans, or the opposite : Lybia affair in the 80's (refusal of US jets passing above french soil to bomb Khadafi), the support of the implantation of the Pershing II in Germany and more recent the refusal to go in the irakish affair etc... ).
you have to understand that it's all about culture, use, traditions... I don't say French are superior or inferior, they are different, we (all countries) are all different. you can't make a decision a rule, that is especially true for the French.
I have travelled all around earth (USA, UK, most of all of Europe from Lisbon to Poland and Czech republic, lived in Germany for 4 years), Africa, Indian ocean (Glorious isles, Mayotte and Réunion). The alone areas I haven't been are Asia and oceania (Australia, NZ area)...
Actually, French are almost ONLY thinking on the second round of the presidential election. The result will maybe say great of our mood and future foreign affairs decisions.

May be, may be not. There are some pro-european activists in France, you know.

Really? And how much of independence from USA or EU do you have today?

Ok. Imagine situation: year 2020, Russia starts a war with USA for returning of Alaska.
Exange of nuclear strikes between USA and their most close allies from one side and Russia from other side. Greece, Italy, Spain, France are intact (exept little fallouts). GB and Germany are fubared and chaotised. Your president declare "a neutralité dans une guerre étrangère" and begin humanitarian occupation of neighbour countries (like Belgium). Will you support your goverment or you want to fight for USA interests?

Really it is a very little part of Europe.

What is worst menace for your independence - USA or Russia?

As for me, words of Le Pen are better, but we need not words, but deeds. And in reality West politics forgot their vows just after elections - their words are no more that forest noise. Le Pen is West politic, so - she is nobody, and her speaches are just a noise.
And yes, it is a French game, not our. We respect their right to elect anybody, at least because it means nothing.
