Under the agreement between Russia and China, the Russian helicopters will provide technologies and also develop a technical proposal and separate systems of the new vehicle on a contract basis.

It looks more like a tech transfer of some sort obviously benefiting China. I am actually surprised they are going to build these types of niche helicopters together. One would think that keeping this technology to ones self would be better.

On the flip side it could just be local production and the incorporation of Chinese sub systems.
