According to the agreement signed between Georgia and Saudi Arabia, Georgia's State Military Scientific-Technical Center 'Delta' will provide Saudi Arabia with a number of armored vehicles. The cost of armored vehicles is $60 million.

Under one deal, Georgia's state arms manufacturer Delta will sell "more than 100" armored medical evacuation vehicles to Saudi Arabia, with the first 12 being shipped before the end of the month, the company announced on Tuesday. The deal will be worth "up to" $40 million.

The vehicle underwent trials in Saudi Arabia in 2014 and was a finalist in a competition with the American company Lenco.

I think on purpose they don't buy from us. No article says that we were even in the competition. I think they will not buy much serious equipment from us. They don't want to have a regional country to be better than them. If you look Al-Arabiya news they don't have many positive things about Turkey. Only Arab country that we can work with is Qatar, the other ones we can not trust. Even Qatar I would still watch my back. Good thing is that Saudi people like us, the Saudi government acts like it likes us.

Anyway I am happy for Georgia.

Looks like a beast, too bad we didn't get the contract.
The Saudis are trying to diversify their inventory. Take a look at their recent air force procurements in the last decade. They bought Fighters from 3 different countries. They don't want American tanks anymore, they even talked about buying the T-90 in the past. I think their acquisitions are highly motivated by geopolitics.

It is more then that, they dont ''like'' Erdogan because of his alignment with the MB(Muslim Brotherhood),the KSA considers Egypt as its army and thats why the fast build up of the Egyptian Armed Forces financed by the KSA and other Gulf Arab kingdoms, the Arabs are on the way to become a unity with one military force.
They will need it against Iran.
You can blame Obama for that,im sure you know why.

The Saudi's could be sick of paying for expensive western gear, they also want to diversify their inventory so that they are not fully dependent on the West.

    AN-178

Antonov also allowed the Saudis to participate in a project where they will build AN-30's locally.
