The article from the Wall Street Journal argues for a nuclear armed Ukraine, what are your thoughts on this? Is the nuclear option something Ukraine should pursue? Would it actually help them in their current situation.

"Why Ukraine Must Have Nuclear Deterrence"

    heres-what-nuclear-weapons-have-to-do-with-the-ukraine-crisis.jpg

"Victor Pinchuk’s assessment that “Ukraine Must Make Painful Compromises for Peace With Russia” (op-ed, Dec. 30) reflects the reality that today Ukraine is negotiating from a position of weakness. This happens to countries that lose territory in military conflicts. Ukraine lost the Crimea and parts of Donbas. The peace solution for the end of the conflict in Donbas, through the Minsk agreements, is being imposed on the weak party, in unfavorable terms.

During the dismemberment of Ukraine in 2014, it had no military treaties with a nation or bloc that would guarantee its security. As a result no nation intervened militarily on Ukraine’s behalf. Today, Ukraine is still subject to the same threats of further partition. Russian troops are amassed in large numbers on Ukraine’s border. With no nation still required militarily to come to Ukraine’s aid, the only way Ukraine can reverse a future violation of its territorial integrity is to acquire a position of strength."

Ukraine should cut its losses and join NATO, that will prevent them from losing any more territory to Russia not a nuclear weapon. What do they plan to nuke Russian little green men? If they do that everyone in Ukraine will turn into little green men |Android|

In this situation there will be WWIII and USA will lose Alaska.

Technically - no. Chernobil already had make radioactive waste as three hundreds of ground nuclear blasts.

Ukraine's NATO membership is a red line for Russia, it is simply not acceptable. If NATO gets Ukraine they can reach deeper into Russia and Russia would be at a disadvantage in a war with NATO (USA).

If Ukraine gets nukes it might help against them getting nuked but it won't prevent any invasions.

Ukraine has been talking of having a nuclear arsenal (pretty much summing up they shouldn't of signed the Non-Proliferation treaty). In my view if this did happen let's say, I don't see Ukraine would of got much aid and help from NATO in their conflict against us then what they think.

I voted no because nuclear weapons would not have stopped what happened in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine and they won't stop any future Russian actions in Ukraine.
