Lately I am noticing many big developments happening in the BMD field in relation to our country in a relatively short period of time.

Equipping all Burke Class Destroyer with BMD capabilities:

Building up our BMD capabilities in Hawaii:

Now linking South Korea's defenses with our own.

Its amazing. The amount of BMD assets we have deployed around the globe is insane.

    -Nearly 40 GBIs in Alaska
-4 GBIs at Vandenburg AB in California
-AEGIS BMD on our Destroyers and Cruisers deployed worldwide
-AEGIS ASHORE in Romania now and Poland in 2018, with possibly Hawaii in the future
-THAAD in Guam with possible deployment to South Korea and Japan
-PAC-3 at many of our bases around the world
    -Possible East Coast Site

This trend will only accelerate in the future. There is no going back on BMD. For example once Lasers and Railguns are ready for primetime in 9 years, it opens up a whole different range of deployment possibilities. Plus they are already considering counters to hypersonic glide vehicles with lockheed's THAAD-ER and the SM-6.

Only the US is capable of building a global defense shield like this. Russia and China can't because they lack the resources and the allies to. That is why they are so afraid of further deployment of it because they cant build something similar and they are worried about how effective it is. It took over $100 billion over the last 30 years for the US to get hit-to-kill technology to where it is now, and we still have a ways to go in some respects with that. But as you can see, that investment is paying off big right now.

The South Koreans have the Israeli Super Green Pine Radar. That radar has a range of roughly 900km, this means that we could potentially get the data that they collect on North Eastern China.
