Information circulating on social media about the military haven taken over the government is untrue. According to Anadolu Agency the chief of general staff is being held hostage. Most likely this is Gülen movement guys who were unfairly allowed in the military and were falsely accusing and jailing officers, they were not cleaned out of the military yet like they were from the Police.

A lot of false information online, please be careful.

According to Ulusal Kanal the information that the government is under military control is false.

Fetullah Gülen is located in Pennsylvania, Turkey has asked for his extradition multiple times.

A coup will undermine democracy and stability of the country so hopefully it fails. Erdogan's recent policies related to Syria angered Saudis. Do you think the Saudis may have had a hand in this as their support for the military government in Egypt? Gulen is the Khomeini of Turkey.

National Intellihence service says that the coup has been defeated, head of general staff is on duty and the military is taking control as usual. Parallel units are being taken care of.

Soldiers were tricked that there was a military exercise.

State TV TRT is back in regular control.

You can see the recording room full of the people.

Thanks for concern brother, unfortunately Gülen is based in the US and the US has not handed him over to Turkey for extradition. I do not think Saudis have home under control, Obama can send this guy to Turkey but he doesn't.

The situation is probably more complicated. I read some articles which mentions that Gulen has even funded Clinton's campaign. Obama on the other hand expressed support for Erdogan in this event.
