Looks like Turkey will be launching a strong retaliation against ISIL after it attacked the Turkish city of Gaziantep. The Turks are sending the FSA to take ISIL held Jarablus. They have not ruled out providing artillery an intel support.

Assad is bombing PYD forces in Hassakeh, Turkey has fixed its relations with Russia and has sent high level officials to Iran. Turkey has been urging the US to stop supporting the PYD and warned the PYD against taking more territory on the Turkish border, the US has not budged on the issue. Do you guys think that Turkey, Iran, and Russia will take out the PYD-SDF which is fully backed by the US? Do you guys think that the US was planning to use the SDF to eventually oust Assad instead of using the FSA to do so?

Advanced intel, wish I had read that earlier. |Sour|

Its difficult to say what the whole plan behind the SDF was, I think it was a way of appeasing local Arabs due to the advance of the ethnic Kurdish YPG the name however "Syrian Democratic Forces" could elude to bigger things but after this event I am convinced that we aren't going to use them to oust Assad rather some sort of deal will be reached with the FSA, Syrian government, and YPG or a deal between the powers controlling the pawns :devil2:.

Operation Euphrates Shield has been waiting to be launched for several years however due to certain forces (same forces that launched the coup) the operation was not able to be launched, interestingly the US also opposed Turkey going in despite all of the delays but now the operation was launched after the military was cleaned out. Daesh immediately fled to El-Bab as FSA and TR Army Approached. Jerablus was captured as well as several other villages, YPG also took advantage of this attack and expanded its territory west of the Euphrates. Turkish officials said that there will be no PYD west of the Euphrates and Daesh will be cleaned from our border.

Artillery Bombardments started after Daesh launched a suicide attack against a wedding in Turkey. 24 hours ago Turkish artillery and jets bombed Daesh and FSA + TR Army entered into Syria.

Turkish Special Forces General Zekai Aksakallı visited Jerablus after its liberation, he was at the border commanding the Op:

PYD-PKK accounts claiming that "local arabs" are fighting FSA and TR Army, apparently trying to appeases the US and make Turkey look like it has no case to clear PYD west of Euphrates as there are no Kurdish forces there. Before they were celebrating that "Kurds" crossed the Euphrates, now there are only local arabs??? :

Look at the weaponry used by FSA units, I am seeing M-14 EBR and FN minimi machine guns. Some fighter have older model M-16. This indicates potential US arming of these rebels.

I said before that PYD is just being used and will be dumped, pro PKK-PYD accounts on twitter are realizing this and so are PYD leaders. Joe Biden said that Turkey should control its whole border.

"The United States strongly believes that Turkey's border must be controlled by Turkey, and there should be no occupation by any other group, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said on Wednesday."

The US has been arming the FSA since the beginning of the war, and even giving some information out on SAA positions to certain FSA commanders. though there is certain groups within the FSA they are not affiliated with and have rumorly conducted airstrikes on. I know they have formed a new group called NSA (new syrian army) with weapons like M16s, M240s etc to take the fight on ISIS but so far the NSA has proven to be a complete failure and a waste of resources.

We know that the coalition is supporting this operation as a wider anti ISIL effort, I would not be surprised if they were provided weapons by the coalition. Another possibility is that they either purchased or captures these weapons outside of Turkey from various black markets in Iraq and Syria.

It doesn't look like the coalition is providing air support to the Turkish-FSA assault. No attacks supporting it yesterday or today. I think support is there if needed.

A Turkish tank was hit by Daesh, 3 soldiers wounded.

PKK readying to deploy next to Syrian wing

Duran Kalkan, a leader of the PKK terrorist organization, vowed to defend northern Syria and send additional militants if the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) starts an offensive on Manbij. Despite the U.S. claiming that the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed wing, the People's Protection Units (YPG), are not directly linked to the PKK, Kalkan openly expressed support for the Syrian wing. "[Turkey entering Syria] is a serious matter," Kalkan said, adding that the PKK is ready to provide support to the PYD if needed. As the situation in northern Syria gets more complex with the FSA marching toward Manbij and the YPG vowing to defend the town with the help of the PKK, the U.S. still keeps silent over YPG attacks on the Turkish military. A Turkish tank was hit by the YPG last week, leading to the death of a Turkish soldier. NATO and Washington could not condemn the attack, which was interpreted by many as a sign of lack of solidarity.

No ceasefire between Turkey and PYD/YPG in Syria

Beware of false information from PKK-PYD accounts saying that there is a ceasefire, some even said that US special forces are placed at front lines to hold ceasefire, this seems to be untrue. Current objective of operation is to cease El-Bab from Daesh, next target is Manbij as they have not withdrawn to the east of the euphrates.

PYD is pushing towards El-Bab from both sides. They captured 3 villages from Daesh near Afrin. FSA also said that they want to capture the city. FSA is being supported by Turkish forces for that objective and PYD by the US.
