    Belarus and Azerbaijan are almost done signing a deal for the sale of 10 Polonez systems to Azerbaijan.

    Azerbaijan revealed their new Polonez System from Belarus. It has a range of 300km and will help the Azerbaijani ground forces counter Armenia's Iskander missiles.

    I have a question..... how many precautions/weapon purchases is Azerbaijan willing to take to counter Armenia's missile inventory? as I know Azerbaijan only has 3 OTR-21 launchers in service, but how can an MRL system counter an actual Iskander system?

    Does Azerbaijan plan to buy an actual deterrence against the Iskander, or is that just prediction? will Azerbaijan buy a BMD system?

    In order to counter the Armenian Iskander threat, Azerbaijan bought LORA missiles and Polonez MRLs systems. though not precise counter-effective systems, the purchase of the S-300PMU2 and Barak 8 is an effective counter weight against the Armenian Iskander threat.

    that said Azerbaijan has ordered a battery of Iron Dome Launcher (8) and then I heard rumors that a 2nd battery is under negotiation which would make us the 1st foreign user of the Iron Dome System which would help make the Armenian Iskander fleet ineffective.

    currently our defense minister has been to Ukraine a number of times to sign newer defence contracts and such and has expressed interest in the Hrim-2 missile which is on the same level as the Iskander. that would cause the Armenians to either;
    A. buy a system such as the S-400 or S-300VM to acquire a BMD system in countering the Hrim missile
    B. buy an effective strike jet such as SU-30 or SU-35 to knock out our missile sights which would still be difficult for the Armenians.

    the main problem is the fact we ordered the Polonez system, but in reality we were to acquire 30 systems not 10. the Belarusians reduced the sale to 10 just because the Belarusians are required to counter any invading force that threatens Armenia.
