Let’s say someone becomes a W-5 Master Warrent Officer, is it possible they could be promoted to O-1 2nd Lieutenant? If so, what requirements would be needed? Is this a normal occourance? Would a W-5 even want to become an O-1?

I dont have much knowledge on ranks. But if i understood you correctly. A W-5 will most likely get rank status in NATO as WO5 and not WO1

And just for the ad. W-5 is the highest rank in that section. So that means he is the best of the best. Logic say he will be granted same high rank as NATO Soldier.

But i am not sure if we speak of the same ting you are asking about.

But let us say a Lieutenant who is in command structure. W-5 will give knowledge to the Lieutenant because Lt is commanding and W-5 is not commanding any ting.

And one more ting i want to say Warrent Officer can be a young man who is up and coming. But beside that an Warrent Officer dont have the talent for commanding on higher level. They have leadership skills but not what it takes to command.

I don’t see any situation where a W5 would do that. In the warrant ranks, they are experts in their given fields. On the commissioned side you are more of an overall manager and a jack of all trades master of none.
