Kat's family owns a Mossberg 590. Gun ownership is highly restricted in Norway post 2011 Utoya Attacks, but firearms are still common in Norway with 1 out of every 3 people owning a firearm, good for being the 10th most heavily armed nation on Earth. Firearm ownership for personal defence is limited, but for hunting is very commonplace. I know a family that owns a Sako TRG-42, a .338 sniper rifle which, believe it or not, is not only legal, but a popular seal hunting rifle. One of Kat's family members is a police officer, hence the shotgun ownership. Kat doesn't like guns though.
