There is a lot of disinformation surrounding the war in Yemen, it is very difficult to see what is going on especially with the civilian casualty numbers and how is responsible for the famine.

For example one can blame the famine on the Saudi's for closing the ports and what not but one can also blame it on the Houthis as any aid that comes in gets taken by them. Also by opening the ports Iranian's smuggle weapons to the Houthis. On the other side given all of the money the Saudi's have they could be doing more to provide food and refugee camps.

As far as civilian casualties go we know that collateral damage happens and that civilians can be killed in an airstrike targeting Houthis. Also you can't blame the Houthis for staying in populated areas as there are no woods in Yemen to hide in from airplanes. No one ca verify either if someone that was killed was Houthi or civilian. They don't wear uniforms and dress like locals. Any fighter that is killed can be portrayed as a civilian or not.

Example, were 70 civilians killed or 70 militants killed or was it a mix of militants and civilians:

Saudi raids kill over 70 Yemeni civilians in 48 hours

When dealing with asymmetric warfare its hard to asses what is going on but it is not unquestionable to think that civilians are being killed en-masse in Yemen as was done during the Vietnam war.

'Saudi F-15 hit by Yemeni forces over Sana'a'
Yemeni forces say they have successfully targeted a Saudi F-15 fighter jet just hours after downing another Saudi warplane.

According to Yemen's Arabic-language al-Masirah television network on early Monday, the F-15 was hit while flying over the capital Sana'a.

On Sunday, Yemeni air defense forces announced that they had intercepted and shot down a twin-engine and multi-role Panavia Tornado combat aircraft belonging to the Saudi-led military alliance over Kitaf wa al-Boqe'e district in the country’s northwestern mountainous province of Sa’ada.

Interesting, the counter measures were deployed but were not able to defeat the incoming missile. It must not have been heat seeking.
